WOODCARVING: OUR WORLD AND OUR HALLMARK

The exquisite art of woodcarving is Maestro Roberto Giovannini's most precious legacy; we have  carried it forward with pride and it remains, as always, our distinguishing feature.
There is no challenge too daring for RG's skilled craftsmen! It is precisely this manual skill, the result of a careful, century-old training, combined with a passion for the philological study of furnishings, that makes our pieces unique.

We also wanted to bring this prized art into the new Aurea wall panelling. Those who visited our stand in Milan saw how each panel, in fact, represents a masterpiece of detail and refinement. Through the precise carving of the grooves which add depth and dynamism to the wooden surface, the panelling becomes a living canvas where light plays with the shapes of the carvings to reveal intriguing nuances between shadow and luminosity.

 

As ornamental elements, we have chosen decorative motifs that have important symbolic meaning for us. The “RG” initials, elegantly highlighted by gilding, are both a seal of authenticity and an expression of pride. The sunburst, a reference to the tradition of the Sun King's mirrors in vogue in the 18th century, reflects the company's ability to sublimely blend history and design. Each intricately carved ray, each applied gilded detail, speaks of the company's ability to transform wood into visual poetry.

These same decorative motifss are testaments to our ability to harmoniously represent and incorporate any element requested by the client within the panelling.

The panelling is available in three versions: SLIM (with a width of only 7 cm), PLUS (32 cm) or customized.
Depending on the thickness chosen, other elements can be integrated into the design: niches also with opening doors in glass or wood, backlit bookcases, or even secret hidden compartments, perhaps for a timepiece or a bar cabinet.
These niches can also feature a wide variety of high-quality coverings such as leather, paint, fabric, marble or patterned ceramics.

 

The conception, creation and assembly of such a complex structure are further proof of Roberto Giovannini's ability to take on the most challenging aspects of craftsmanship.
