FRIEZES, STATUES, ART AND ORNAMENTATION
Harmony in interior decoration
Art and history meet in the remarkable path that Roberto Giovannini has masterfully charted over 60 years of study and research. A path made up of tenacity, curiosity, encounters and experimentation, studies of anatomy and history, a research that has also benefited from the collaboration with sculptors and carvers such as Annibale Niccolai and Alfonso Boninsegni, an artist who worked with Roberto on the creation of the Greek Warriors, an exemplary example of harmonious and accomplished balance.
Numerous ornamental elements have thus become part of RG's collections over time: a variety of wooden statues, as well as friezes, columns, vases, shelves, bookends and refined decorations where ribbons and quivers, acanthus leaves and rose bush tendrils, multicoloured fruit and luscious leaves carved “a cartoccio”, an ancient and complex technique, Roberto Giovannini's pride and passion.
We thus come across an enchanted universe, where among the golden scrolls that surround and define mirrors, sofas, armchairs and dressers, taking us to a magically evoked 18th-century Venice and Paris, we encounter Venuses and Warriors, Greyhounds and Hippocampi, vases and columns, shelves and bookends, iconic and striking elements that constitute a further alphabet for décor to adorn and render unique a corner, a niche, a wall, a door, with objects imbued with grace and beauty.
