FROM CHIPPENDALE TO NEOCLASSICAL, PERFECT RE-EDITIONS
A journey through the trends of yesteryear
Thomas Chippendale, a forerunner of contemporary product marketing strategies was able to interpret and synthesise the trends of the 'collective imagination' of his time. Interpreting the characteristics of Gothic, Rococo and Chinese, he succeeded in creating a new trend capable of summarising the strongly evocative stylistic features of the exotic taste linked to the other influences of the period.
And so here is King Palace, our perfect re-edition of a Chippendale design, resplendent in gold and blue damask.
But in our long journey through the styles of past centuries, we have retraced the exploits and designs of the talented designers of yesteryear by re-editing many of their pieces; these include Laguna, in gold and velvet, a sumptuous 18th-century Venetian bed, Ramage from late 17th-century Tuscany with a precious Labradorite inlay, Versailles in a rigorous luxury version with an ebony frame and fabrics in contrasting black & white geometries, Rialto, sober and synthetic in ebony and leather, and finally Impero, a dazzling total white and light gold in the perfect re-edition of the neoclassical bed. Different styles and different moods for changing emotions.
